Blount County Museum Displays

Cindy Prickett’s June Quilt of the Month is a wonderful display of times past at the Blount County Historical Museum. This quilt is made from pieces of 1930’s feed sacks collected by Cindy’s mother, Ruby Ellison Brown, and Cindy’s grandmother, Tiny Peeples Ellison. It was pieced by Cindy and quilted by Becky Lawder from the 13:31 Quilting and Embroidery Shop in Attalla. 

“Home is Where the Heart Is,” pieced and quilted by Sharon Smith, is the Blount County Quilters Guild’s Quilt-of-the-Month for May. Every month guild members bring in a fabulous piece of art for exhibit and every month the quilt exemplifies a combination of both artistry and the skill of a detailed craftsperson. This month is no exception. In this elegant and detailed work, Sharon shows her heart
