Each month a quilt will be displayed by one of the members of Blount County Quilters’ Guild. We are honored to participate and show our love of quilting.
This colorful quilt, “Sunbonnet Sue,” is on display through March at the museum. It was a group project of the Blount County Quilters Guild, with various members completing the applique squares. The Guild is selling “Sue” for $400 to help fund their many charitable projects.
A true piece of Blount County history will adorn the museum’s wall during February. The Blount County Quilters Guild exhibit is on loan from Guild member Ruth Davis. This beautiful artwork was made in 1988-89 by members of the Guild and was the first members-quilt they produced. (The Guild started in 1988.) Ruth said she won the quilt in a drawing, but did not contribute to its making. It is hand
