Each month a quilt will be displayed by one of the members of Blount County Quilters’ Guild. We are honored to participate and show our love of quilting.
The Blount County Quilter Guild’s Quilt-of-the-Month for July is now on display at the museum, and it could not be more appropriate given the Fourth of July is this week. Katheren Lindsay pieced and quilted this patriotic and colorful work. Among the red, white, and blue captivating stars, one can find the names of all 50 states. Come by and see if you can locate Alabama!

Cindy Prickett’s June Quilt of the Month is a wonderful display of times past at the Blount County Historical Museum. This quilt is made from pieces of 1930’s feed sacks collected by Cindy’s mother, Ruby Ellison Brown, and Cindy’s grandmother, Tiny Peeples Ellison. It was pieced by Cindy and quilted by Becky Lawder from the 13:31 Quilting and Embroidery Shop in Attalla.
